Human Anti-IL18 (clone ABT-325) scFv-Fc Chimera (CAT#: VS-0125-FY16)
The function of the anti-hIL-18 ScFv-Fc fusion protein primarily lies in enhancing the affinity towards human interleukin-18 (hIL-18). Specifically, the ScFv-Fc fusion protein exhibits a higher binding capacity than the individual components when combining the ScFv (single-chain antibody fragment) with the Fc (crystalline domain) region. The fusion protein with a C-terminal Fc domain shows approximately fourfold greater affinity for hIL-18 compared to the standalone anti-hIL-18 ScFv. Additionally, the anti-hIL-18 ScFv-Fc may not only enhance binding affinity to hIL-18 but also play a role in modulating or enhancing signaling pathways, thereby promoting more effective therapeutic outcomes or biological functions.
We specialize in custom recombinant antibody production, offering seamless execution from provided sequences to high-quality antibody deliverables, ensuring optimal yield and purity.

- Function
- Pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily involved in epithelial barrier repair, polarized T-helper 1 (Th1) cell and natural killer (NK) cell immune responses.
Upon binding to IL18R1 and IL18RAP, forms a signaling ternary complex which activates NF-kappa-B, triggering synthesis of inflammatory mediators.
Synergizes with IL12/interleukin-12 to induce IFNG synthesis from T-helper 1 (Th1) cells and natural killer (NK) cells.
Involved in transduction of inflammation downstream of pyroptosis: its mature form is specifically released in the extracellular milieu by passing through the gasdermin-D (GSDMD) pore.
