Human Anti-IL18 Recombinant Antibody (clone 2E1) (CAT#: HPAB-0064-YC)
Interleukin-18 (IL-18) was originally described in 1989 as interferon-gamma inducing factor (IGIF) and is a pro-inflammatory cytokine with various functions in addition to an ability to induce interferon gamma. These biological properties include activation of NF-κb, Fas ligand expression, the induction of both CC and CXC chemokines, and increased production of competent human immunodeficiency virus.

Figure 1 shows the potency of three different anti-IL-18 antibodies in neutralizing the biologic effects of IL-18 as a function of inhibition of IFN-γ induction in KG1 cells.
The IC50 values for the antibodies 125H (boxes) and the 2E1 antibody as an IgG antibody (circles) or as a single chain antibody (triangles) are, respectively, 2.1E-10, 9.0E-10, and 3.3E-9.
