The anti-FAP pH-dependent antibody (VS-0825-YC123) is a pH-responsive antibody engineered to target human FAP. This pH-switched monoclonal antibody (mAb) was developed by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions, which results in pH-biased binding to FAP. By leveraging the natural pH variations in different tissues and cellular compartments, this pH-responsive antibody facilitates precise targeting of FAP on cells and tissues. Human FAP, or Fibroblast Activation Protein, is a serine protease that is expressed on the surface of activated fibroblasts. It is involved in tissue remodeling and is a marker of certain cancers and fibrotic diseases.
