The anti-FAPα scFv-Fc antibody targets fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAPα), a serine protease expressed in cancer-associated fibroblasts. It is useful for studying the role of FAPα in tumor stroma remodeling, angiogenesis, and cancer progression.

- FAP is a type II transmembrane serine protease that is overexpressed in cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) within the tumor microenvironment. It plays a role in the degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM), promoting tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. FAP also influences cell signaling pathways involved in tissue remodeling and wound healing, contributing to the desmoplastic reaction characteristic of many solid tumors.
