The anti-CCL2 eliminating antibody is an engineered pH-sensitive antibody against human CCL2. CCL2 is a chemotactic factor for monocytes, involved in inflammatory diseases like psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. The antibody has a novel CCL2-sweeping activity in vivo, which selectively eliminatesthe soluble CCL2 from plasma. Compared to conventional antibody, the mAb exerted in vivo efficacy by simultaneously engineering both pH-dependent antigen binding, to mimic the pH-dependent receptor-ligand binding of such endocytic receptors, and increased FcRn binding affinity at neutral pH, to mimic the cell-bound form of the receptors.
