SmartAb™ Recombinant Anti-TGFBR2 pH-dependent Antibody (Clone TGF1)

The anti-TGFBR2 pH-dependent antibody (clone TGF1) targets human TGFBR2 in a pH-dependent manner, with its affinity remaining high at neutral pH but weakening at a lower pH, such as within the acidic environment of endosomes. The anti-TGFBR2 acid-switched antibody was engineered by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions. The introduction of histidine substitutions within its Complementarity-Determining Regions (CDRs) enables pH-responsive antigen binding, which leads to enhanced TGFBR2 clearance. The antibody operates in a cyclical manner, binding TGFBR2 in the extracellular fluid and releasing it in acidified endosomes. Human TGFBR2 (Transforming Growth Factor Beta Receptor 2) is a receptor serine/threonine kinase that is a key component of the TGF-β receptor complex. It is involved in cell growth, proliferation, and apoptosis, and mutations in its gene are linked to various cancers.
