The anti-FOLR1 pH-dependent antibody (VS-0825-YC140) is a pH-responsive antibody engineered to target human folate receptor 1 (FOLR1). This pH-switched monoclonal antibody (mAb) was developed by incorporating histidine residues into its variable regions, which results in pH-biased binding to FOLR1. By leveraging the natural pH variations in different tissues and cellular compartments, this pH-responsive antibody facilitates precise targeting of FOLR1 on cells and tissues. Human folate receptor 1 (FOLR1) is a protein that mediates the cellular uptake of folate, a crucial vitamin. It is often overexpressed in various cancers, including ovarian cancer, making it a target for anti-cancer drugs conjugated to folate.
