Bluetongue virus (BTV), a member of genus Orbivirus, a family Reoviridae, is a non-enveloped with double shelled structure and ten segmented double stranded (ds) RNA genome. The RNA segment S7 encodes an inner capsid serogroup specific viral protein VP7.
