KRAS (G12D)

KRAS is a Kirsten ras oncogene homolog from the mammalian ras gene family. KRAS encodes a protein that is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. The protein is implicated in various malignancies, including lung adenocar cinoma, mucinous adenoma, ductal carcinoma of the pancreas, and colorectal carcinoma. Under normal conditions, Ras family members influence cell growth and differentiation events in a subcellular membrane compartmentalization based signaling system. However, oncogenic Ras can deregulate processes that control both cell proliferation and apopto S1S.
