MIR-1, or Beta-lactamase MIR-1, is a specific Class C (AmpC-type) β-lactamase produced by some Gram-negative bacteria, particularly Enterobacter cloacae. It confers resistance to cephalosporins and, to some extent, carbapenems by hydrolyzing the β-lactam ring, posing a clinical challenge in treating bacterial infections.
