Serine/threonine protein phosphatase 2A 56 kDa regulatory subunit δ subtype is an enzyme encoded by the PPP2R5D gene in the human body.
The product of this gene belongs to the phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2A is one of the four main Ser/Thr phosphatases, which is related to the negative regulation of cell growth and division. It consists of a common heteromeric core enzyme, which consists of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, and is associated with multiple regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit may regulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. This gene encodes the delta isoform of the B56 subfamily of regulatory subunits. Transcription variants that encode splices of different isoforms have been identified.
