SerpinI2

SerpinI2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SERPINI2 gene. Serpin is a kind of homologous protein superfamily, which can inhibit the activity of serine protease or cysteine protease. Serpin is widely used in animals, plants, fungi, prokaryotes, viruses and other organisms. The protein is a single peptide chain globular protein with a molecular weight of 40-50 kD, composed of 350-500 amino acids, with a highly conserved three-dimensional structure and an active helix center (RSL) near the C end, which forms covalent bonds with the target protease to inactivate the protease. Serpin plays a key regulatory role in a variety of metabolic systems and is an important factor for maintaining environmental stability in vivo.
