Background
WSX receptor or WSX ligand antagonists (such as WSX receptor ECD or immunoadhesin, and WSX receptor or OB protein neutralizing antibodies) may be used in the treatment of those disorders wherein unacceptable lymphocyte levels are present in the mammal, particularly where this is caused by excessive activation of the WSX receptor. Examples of conditions in which administration of such an antagonist may be beneficial include: neoplastic disorders (such as Hodkin's disease; lymphosarcoma; lymphoblastoma; lymphocytic leukemia; and lymphoma) and lymphocytosis.
