murB, or UDP-N-acetylenolpyruvoylglucosamine reductase (MurB), is an enzyme involved in bacterial peptidoglycan biosynthesis. It catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of UDP-N-acetylenolpyruvoylglucosamine to UDP-N-acetylmuramic acid. MurB is an essential enzyme, providing a critical precursor for cell wall assembly.
