This product is a recombinant human anti-HIV-1 monoclonal antibody. HGN194 specifically binds to gp120 V3 and can be potentially used in the treatment of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans characterized by clinical features including wasting syndromes, central nervous system degeneration and profound immunosuppression that results in life-threatening opportunistic infections and malignancies.

The results show that virus susceptibility to neutralization by mAb HGN194 can be transferred by swapping of the V2 regions between sensitive (Du179) and resistant virus (ZM249M).
