Angiogenesis

Angiogenesis is the physiological process by which new blood vessels are formed from pre-existing vasculature. This intricate and tightly regulated process is fundamental for numerous physiological events throughout life, including embryonic development, wound healing, tissue repair, and the female reproductive cycle. However, when dysregulated, it becomes a pathological driver in a wide array of diseases, most notably solid tumor growth and metastasis, but also chronic inflammatory conditions, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration.
