Background
The Tn antigen, a carbohydrate modification of glycoproteins, is a tumor-associated antigen that is present on the surface of various cancer cells. It is part of a group of antigens known as mucin-type O-linked glycans. The presence of the Tn antigen is particularly associated with malignancies, as it is found exposed in approximately 90% of human carcinomas, which are a type of cancer that originates in the epithelial tissues.
