Background
The angiogenesis inhibitory protein of angiogenesis inhibitory protein 1 (VASH1) is located on chromosome 14q24.3 and contains 7 introns and 8 exons, consisting of 365 amino acid residues. VASH1 is mainly induced by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGE), and VEGE binds to its receptor VEGE-2, which initiates the downstream PKC-δ signaling pathway and promotes the expression of VASH1 in endothelial cells. Angiogenesis inhibitory protein is a novel negative feedback regulating angiogenic protein that plays an important role in the regulation of angiogenesis in malignant tumors such as urothelial carcinoma, prostate cancer, and breast cancer. VASH1 plays a crucial role in the negative feedback regulation of tumor angiogenesis, mainly inhibiting the germination phase of new blood vessels and significantly inhibiting the development of tumors.
