The anti-αVβ3 integrin antibody specifically target β3 cysteine loop for which do endothelial and smooth muscle cells utilize to communicate to the cell nucleus that they are adhere adequately to extracellular matrix in order to divide. By blockingαVβ3 ligand occupancy and thereby blocking both SHP-2 and She transfer thus inhibiting IGF-1 stimulated cell growth, the specific antibody can be used to treat kidney disease, nephropathy and inflammatory bowel disease.
