Figure 1 Numbers of C. neoformans CFU (the y axis is log10 scale) after various coculture times with IFN-g- and LPS-activated J774.16 cells in the presence and absence of MAb 2H1 and FLU. MAb and FLU concentrations were 5 and 10 mg/ml, respectively.
The initial effector cell:target cell (E:T; i.e., macrophage:yeast) ratio was 10:1. MAb-mediated fungistasis is apparent at 12 and 24 h but not after those times. FLU fungistasis is apparent after 24 h. The combination of MAb 2H1 and FLU resulted in lower numbers of CFU at each time point. The P values were calculated by the Wilcoxon test. P1 refers to comparison with J774.16 cells alone; P2 refers to comparison with the J774.16 plus MAb 2H1 group; P3 refers to comparison with the J774.16 plus FLU group.
