Mouse Anti-HPV58 L1 Recombinant Antibody (VS-0724-FY37) (CAT#: VS-0724-FY37)
This is a mouse IgG2a monoclonal antibody that binds to HPV58 L1. 5G9 recognizes amino acids R135, Y136, and A138 form the major interactions involving HPV58. The binding affinity EC₅₀ for clone 5G9 is 48.93 ng/mL. 2H3 recognizes epitopes involving the BC, EF, FG, and HI loops of the HPV58 capsid and exhibits the highest binding and neutralization efficiency. The antibody 2H3 has the highest inhibition (87%) when recognizing an immunodominant epitope. The IC₅₀ of clone 2H3 is 3.3 ng/mL.

Figure 1. Recombinant Mouse Anti-HPV58 L1 Antibody (5G9) in ELISA.
Clustering analysis of 15 nAbs directed against HPV58 VLPs based on competitive ELISA (cELISA). The 15 nAbs were clustered into 3 groups (C1 [blue], C2 [red], and C3 [green]) (left) using SPSS based on their cELISA profiles (right). The heat map of the cELISA data is depicted according to the inhibition rate (percent). Parameters are colored continuously from green to red (0, green; 50, black; 100, red).

Figure 2. Recombinant Mouse Anti-HPV58 L1 Antibody (5G9 and 2H3) in IF.
Attachment assay for HPV58 nAbs to the ECM and cell surface. PsV58 (green) was preincubated with either BSA (control group) or 5G9, as indicated, and then added to the ECM or the cell surface. Laminin-5 (red) stain was used for the ECM in an ECM binding assay, and phalloidin (red) was used for activity in the cell-surface binding assay. Green fluorescent PsV58 was preincubated with either BSA (control group) or 2H3, as specified, before being added to the ECM or cell surface. A red stain, laminin-5, was used to visualize binding to the ECM, while phalloidin, another red stain, was used to assess binding to the cell surface. DAPI fluorescence (blue) was used to identify the cell nuclei.

- Alternative Names
- Human Papillomavirus type 58 L1; HPV58 L1
- UniProt ID
- P26535
- Long Name
- Human Papillomavirus type 58 L1
- Sequence Similarities
- Belongs to the papillomaviridae L1 protein family.
- Post Translation Modifications
- Disulfide bond
- Function
- The function of HPV58 L1 is to form the outer capsid of the human papillomavirus (HPV) virus. L1 is a major structural protein that self-assembles into pentameric capsomeres and further assembles to form the icosahedral capsid of the virus. The L1 protein plays a critical role in mediating viral entry, attachment to host cells, and immune evasion. Additionally, L1 is a major target for the development of HPV vaccines, as antibodies targeting L1 can prevent infection and viral replication.
