T cell immunity directed against tumor-encoded amino acid substitutions occurs in some melanoma patients. This implicates missense mutations as a source of patient-specific neoantigens. TMEM48 F169L represent dominant antigens as T cell immunity was detected prior to vaccination (naturally occurring) and these neoantigens are processed and presented from endogenously expressed protein.
