Background
tnp, or Transposase, is an enzyme encoded by transposons (jumping genes) that catalyzes their movement from one location in the genome to another. Transposase recognizes specific DNA sequences at the ends of the transposon, excises or copies it, and inserts it into a new genomic location. Tnp is crucial for horizontal gene transfer and bacterial evolution.
