Antibody clone Fab4 is a class of antagonistic antibody against IL-12Rβ1 at an interface that does not overlap with the cytokine binding site. Fab4 binds IL-12Rβ1 at the interface of D3 and D4, which is indeed not part of a cytokine- or receptor-receptor interface.

Associated with IL12RB2 it forms a functional, high affinity receptor for IL12.
Associates also with IL23R to form the interleukin-23 receptor which functions in IL23 signal transduction probably through activation of the Jak-Stat signaling cascade.
