CD300A is an immunoregulatory receptor predominantly expressed on myeloid cells, including monocytes, macrophages, and certain dendritic cell subsets. It contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs), which mediate inhibitory signaling. CD300A interacts with phosphatidylserine on apoptotic cells, facilitating their recognition and clearance while suppressing excessive immune activation. This inhibitory function plays a role in preventing chronic inflammation and autoimmune responses. CD300A is involved in various diseases, including allergies, infections, and cancer, where its modulation can impact immune homeostasis and immune evasion mechanisms.
