O1 Inaba

The Ο1 group of Vibrio cholerae includes the classical virbriocholerae classical biotype and the virbriocholerae ELTorbiltype. The former is a Vibrio isolated from the patient's feces in the 19th century; the latter is the Vibrio hemolyticus found in the quarantine station in El Torto, Egypt and Sinai in the early 20th century. According to the bacterial antigen component, it can be divided into three serotypes, namely, rice leaf type (Inaba, prototype, containing AC), Ogawa type (Οgawa, heterotypic, including AB) and Hikashi (Hikojima, intermediate type, containing ABC). This group of Vibrio cholerae is the main pathogen of cholera.
