Pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC) is a multienzyme complex that catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA. PDC-E2 is the E2 subunit of PDC and is a major autoantigen in primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), an autoimmune liver disease. PDC-E2 is a potential target for the development of new drugs to treat PBC.
