Mouse Anti-MHC II scFv-Fc Chimera (VS-0425-FY12)
CAT#: VS-0425-FY12
The anti-MHC II scFv-Fc is a recombinant protein that specifically targets major histocompatibility complex class II molecules, playing a critical role in modulating immune responses. This innovative product features a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) fused to an Fc domain, enhancing its stability and efficacy in therapeutic applications.

Target
- Alternative Names
- MHC II; MHC class II molecules
- Long Name
- MHC class II molecules
- Function
- The MHC II genes encode for Major Histocompatibility Complex class II molecules, which are crucial cell surface receptors in the adaptive immune system. Primarily found on professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs) like dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells, their main function is to present processed exogenous antigens (derived from outside the cell) to CD4+ T helper cells.
This process begins with the uptake and breakdown of foreign pathogens or extracellular material within APCs. The resulting peptide fragments are then loaded onto MHC II molecules within endocytic compartments. These peptide-MHC II complexes are transported to the cell surface, where they are recognized by specific T cell receptors on CD4+ T cells. This interaction leads to T cell activation, which is essential for orchestrating downstream immune responses, including B cell activation for antibody production and the activation of other effector cells to combat the infection. In essence, MHC II molecules bridge the gap between antigen recognition and the initiation of a targeted immune response.
