Mouse Anti-oxLDL (clone 2DO3) scFv-Fc Chimera (CAT#: VS-0425-FY163)
This antibody targets oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL), a key factor in the development of atherosclerosis. By binding to oxLDL, this scFv-FC could potentially be used for diagnostic imaging or therapeutic intervention in cardiovascular diseases.
We specialize in custom recombinant antibody production, offering seamless execution from provided sequences to high-quality antibody deliverables, ensuring optimal yield and purity.

Target
- Alternative Names
- oxidized Low-Density Lipoprotein; oxLDL
- Long Name
- oxidized Low-Density Lipoprotein
- Function
- Oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) is formed when LDL, the primary carrier of cholesterol in the bloodstream, undergoes oxidation. This process significantly alters the structure and function of LDL, transforming it from a relatively benign molecule into a pro-inflammatory and pro-atherogenic entity.
OxLDL plays a critical role in the development and progression of atherosclerosis. It is readily taken up by macrophages via scavenger receptors, leading to the formation of foam cells, a hallmark of early atherosclerotic lesions. Furthermore, oxLDL can induce endothelial dysfunction, promote the expression of adhesion molecules, stimulate the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, and contribute to the instability of atherosclerotic plaques. Its presence and levels are considered important indicators of cardiovascular risk.
