The C5a receptor, also known as complement component 5a receptor 1 (C5AR1) or CD88, is a G protein-coupled receptor essential for transducing the biological responses triggered by the complement fragment C5a. It is involved in driving powerful pro-inflammatory responses and regulating immune functions. Abnormalities in the C5a-C5AR1 signaling pathway are linked to a variety of immune-related disorders, highlighting the importance of therapeutic strategies aimed at inhibiting this pathway for the effective treatment of these conditions.

C5AR1 (Complement C5a Receptor 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with C5AR1 include Mannose-Binding Lectin Deficiency and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Among its related pathways are Creation of C4 and C2 activators and Complement and coagulation cascades. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include G-protein coupled receptor activity and complement component C5a binding. An important paralog of this gene is C5AR2.
