Background
Histone H3 is a core component of the nucleosome, which serves as the fundamental subunit of chromatin. Each nucleosome is a compact structure, comprising 147 base pairs of DNA tightly wrapped around an octamer of core histone proteins. This octamer includes two copies each of Histone H2A, Histone H2B, Histone H3, and Histone H4.
