Background
BORIS (Brother of Regulator of Imprinted Sites), also known as CTCFL (CTCF-like), is a zinc-finger DNA binding protein that functions as a chromatin insulator. It is a paralog (a gene related by duplication within a genome) of the well-known CTCF protein.
