SLC7A6, or Y+L amino acid transporter 2 (y+LAT2), is a component of a heterodimeric amino acid transporter complex located in the plasma membrane. It facilitates the sodium-independent exchange of cationic and neutral amino acids. Y+LAT2 plays a role in transporting essential amino acids across cell membranes, particularly in the intestine and kidney.
