The anti-TSST-1 scFv-Fc fusion protein is an engineered therapeutic designed to neutralize Toxic Shock Syndrome Toxin-1 (TSST-1), a superantigen produced by Staphylococcus aureus. This protein combines a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) for high-affinity targeting of TSST-1, with an Fc domain to enhance stability and prolong its systemic half-life. By binding and neutralizing TSST-1, this protein aims to mitigate the excessive immune response and cytokine storm associated with toxic shock syndrome. The Fc region allows the protein to have longer duration in the body of the patient. This neutralization intends to decrease the harmful affects of TSST-1.
